Skin Tightening Questions
Am I a good candidate for non-surgical skin tightening?
Most adults with mild to moderate skin laxity, jowling, or loose neck skin are good candidates. At your free consultation we assess your skin in person and tell you honestly what will work. Patients who are pregnant, have certain medical conditions, or have significant laxity may be better served by other options.
Can skin tightening replace a facelift?
For mild to moderate laxity, treatments like Morpheus8, XERF, Evoke, and NovaThreads can deliver real lifting and tightening without surgery or extended downtime. They won't match a surgical facelift for advanced laxity, but for many patients they're an excellent alternative or a way to delay surgery.
Is there downtime?
It depends on the treatment. XERF and Evoke have essentially no downtime. Morpheus8 typically involves 2 to 4 days of redness and mild swelling. NovaThreads may cause minimal bruising or swelling for a few days.
How many sessions will I need?
Morpheus8 typically delivers strong results in 1 to 3 sessions. XERF patients usually see their best results after 2 to 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Evoke is usually a series of 4 to 6 sessions, and NovaThreads is often a single session with touch-ups every 12 to 18 months.
How long do results last?
Morpheus8 results typically last 1 to 3 years depending on your skin and how you maintain it. Because these treatments stimulate your own collagen, results develop gradually and tend to hold well. Annual maintenance treatments are a common way to extend them.
What's the difference between Morpheus8 and XERF?
Morpheus8 uses microneedles to deliver RF energy into deeper layers of skin and fat. It requires numbing cream and a few days of downtime, but delivers more dramatic contouring. XERF delivers RF energy through the surface with built-in cooling, so there are no needles, usually no numbing, and no downtime. Many patients combine treatments, and we'll help you choose.
